David H. Boitnott

David and Tabitha Boitnott were twins.
David enlisted at Rocky Mount, Virginia on 17 June 1861 in Company K, 42nd Regiment, Virginia Infantry of the Confederate Army. He was captured at Fort Royal on 30 May 1862; somehow was released/escaped and returned to active duty on 6 October 1862; found unfit for active duty on 5 December 1862 and assigned to Chimbarazo Hospital in Richmond, Virginia as a cook and water master on 11 December 1862; found unfit for active duty in December 1863; returned to active duty on 5 February 1864; admitted to the C.S.A. General Hospital in Danville with chronic diarrhea in June 1864; captured at Winchester on 19 September 1864; and died of pneumonia on 29 March 1865. David is buried in grave 1308 in the Prisoner of War Graveyard.
