Henry Galley
(12 Jun 1818 - 2 Dec 1895)
Henry Galley inherit half of his father's, Philip Galley, farm on the banks of the Younghiogheny River. Henry also owned a mercantile business in Dawson, across the river from his farm. In 1858 Henry, Democratic Party, was elected to the Legislature. He lost reelection in 1860. Henry opposed Lincoln's use of the military to keep the South in the union, and he favored allowing the South to decide the issue of slavery. Henry owned the Strickler Fruit Farm.
