Henry Stonebraker

(21 Jul 1815 - 21 Feb 1877)

Henry Stonebraker was a farmer, a mill operator and a hotel manager in Missouri. Later, he returned to Maryland and sold machinery and, then, opened a general mercantile store in Funkstown, named Stonebraker and Hoffman. After ten years in the store he began to manufacture medicine for humans and animals. In 1866 he moved his medicine business to Baltimore, now called Stonebraker, Hoffman and Company. It employed fifty workers. Upon his death in 1877, his sons continued the business.

His wife and he were members of the Reformed Church. He was a I.O.O.F. member.
