Gail Swarr Simpson's obituary
Gail Swarr Simpson, 64, of 717 Fallon Dr., Lancaster, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at the Essa Flory Hospice Center after a lengthy battle with C.O.P.D. from many years of smoking.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Walter W. and Elva Wenger Swarr. She would have been married for 30 years in December to James Simpson.
Gail worked most recently as a receiving specialist for the Jay Group for 10 years, and prior to that had also worked at the former Pantry Pride. She loved to spend time with her family and friends, and her sense of humor will be greatly missed. Her hobbies included boating on the Chesapeake Bay, collecting lighthouses, painting, sewing, and crafts. She was a NASCAR fan, and especially of Dale Earnhardt. She was a lifetime member of the Riverside Camping Association.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by: 4 daughters, Tracy Magargle of Strasburg, Tammy Voss of Sanford, NC, Terry Rhinier of Lancaster, Tobye wife of David Wesner of Landisville; 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; a brother, W. Richard Swarr of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters and a brother.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Lancaster County for all the help and support they provided.
A memorial service will be held from the Lancaster County Bible Church, 2392 Mt. Joy Road, Manheim, on Tuesday at 11 am. The family will visit with friends from 10 to 11 am at the church. Kindly omit flowers. Contributions may be made to Hospice of Lancaster County, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125. Arrangements by the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 394-4097.
