Eldred

Eldred was the name of several Saxon kings in the 8th and 9th centuries. Williams recounted the English history of the Eldred clan, but did not directly connect the English Eldreds and the American Eldridge. Williams suggested that John Eldred of Great Saxham and a director of the Virginia Company of London was probably connected to the Eldridges of America.
