Johannes Sherk

Johannes Scherck and most of his family moved to Canada from Pennsylvania in 1795. Like many of those who did not support the Revolutionary War, Canada's offer of two hundred acres of free land was very attractive compared to the high, penalty taxes waged on "nonassociators" by the revolutionary government.
