Johannes Bauman immigrated to America in 1717. He may be the brother of Wendell Bauman (1681-1735). He was a Mennonite preacher, and ordained a bishop, Mellinger, by 1725. Also in 1725. Johannes signed The Christian Confession of Faith of the .... Mennonists. He first settled on 100 acres in Strasburg Township, on the northeast side of Lime Valley Road and Lime Valley Covered Bridge. He also gained land south of Weaver Road and Sawmill Road that was subdivided between his sons, Hans and Casper, on 20 September 1744.
