Valentine Metzler

(15 Feb 1726 - 24 Jul 1783)

Valentine Metzler landed in Philadelphia aboard the Glasgow on 9 September 1738. He was ordained a bishop for Landis Valley. His wife, Anna Nissley, and he bought her father 60 acres in Lancaster Boro along the Conestoga River. On 27 April 1767, he bought a 1571 Froschauer Bible from Christian Meier. It can be seen in the Martin Library at Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
