Johannes Kauffman

Hans Kauffman immigrated to America. On 15 September 1737 he bought 250 acres on Little Conestoga Creek. On 19 January 1738 he added 190 more acres adjacent to his. Then, on 2 June 1743, he bought 226 acres in Hempfield Township. He signed the Declaration of Loyalty on 1 April 1728, and became a naturalized British citizen on 14 February 1729/30 as "John Coffman."
Hans' parents were Isaac Kauffman and Anna Streit, according to Hope Lind.
