Peter Lehman Senior

Peter Lehman, Sr. may be the Peter Lehman that gave notice in 1699 to officials that he was leaving Switzerland. He went to Friedelsheim in the Palatinate where he was recorded as residing on 20 December 1699 and on 27 February 1708.
Peter came to America in 1717. On 27 September 1717, he warranted 300 acres in present-day East Earl Township, and he patented the land 19 December 1728. His land is bisected by the Hartman Bridge Road.
Peter Lehman, Sr. is thought to be one of the founding members of the Lampeter Mennonite congregation, now known as the Mellinger Mennonite Church.
