Individual Details

Hans Brubacher, IV, probably came to America in 1717 with his father, Hans Brubacher, III. Hans, IV, traveled back to the Palatinate to marry Maria Newcomer. The couple then returned to America aboard the St. Andrew on 9 September 1749. Unfortunately, Maria died within a few weeks of landing in Pennsylvania. Hans, IV, settled in Elizabeth township, near Hammer Creek.

Hans, IV, and Maria Doner's home still stands at 216 East Brubaker Valley Road in Lititz, Pennsylvania. His Ausbund, published around 1700 in Basel, Switzerland, is in the Clarke Hess collection. Late in life, Hans lost his eye sight.
