Martin Groff was an ordained minister at Groffdale. He obtained 151 in Earl Township on 22 June 1721, present day northwest corner of Amishtown Road and North Shirk Road, near New Holland. In 1735 March 1, he obtained an additional 196 acres east of present day North Shirk Road.
