Individual Details

Wendell Bauman

(Abt 1681 - Abt 1735)

A Wendell Bauman and a Johannes Bauman, along with other siblings, arrived in Amsterdam in 1690, likely as orphans. While it is not certain, that these Baumans are the ones that came to Lancaster County, it is likely.

Wendell and Anna Bauman came to Germantown, Pennsylvania by 1707 with three or more children. On 10 October 1710, Wendell warranted 530 acres along the Pequea River, in Lampeter, Pennsylvania. He was a coppersmith.

Wendell signed a petition in 1725 requesting permission for "Menists" to hold and enjoy lands, trade and merchandise.

Grace Zimmerman, and Leroy Stauffer, gave different ancestors for Wendel Bauman. She gave Wendel's father as Hans Jacob Bauman (born 1632). Hans's parents as Daniel Bauman (1597-26 February 1636) and Anna Kagi. Next, Grace returns to same great gran parents: Leonhart Bauman (born 1568) and Barbara Bar.

There is much conflicting material on Wendel Bowman's descendants. I have relied on Emmert Bittinger and Allan Garber as my main sources for his descendants.
