Christian Gerber Senior
(Abt 1700 - Abt 1769)
Christian Gerber, Sr. emigrated to America. He signed the declaration of Loyalty 1 April 1728, but never completed the process to become a British citizen. On 6 July 1741 he patented 236 acres in present-day West Hempfield Township at the southern base of Chestnut Hill. His homestead is west of Mountville between Prospect Road and Sylvan Retreat Road. US Route 30 cuts through the property.
