Franklin N. Tice Senior

Franklin Tice, Sr. came to Mount Morris in 1855. He worked in the grain and lumber business at Haldane before turning to farming near Forreston. In 1876 he founded the Forreston Herald. Franklin was elected to the Illinois Legislature in 1875, and served until 1880. He returned to farming near Mount Morris. In 1890 President Harrison appointed him postmaster for Mount Morris.
