Individual Details

Samuel Winders Senior

(11 Nov 1802 - 13 Nov 1878)

Samuel Winders was listed as "Scotch-Irish" by Thomas Williams. Deven Lewis and his fellow researchers believe Samuel was English and, maybe, from the border of England and Scotland. To further confuse genealogists, DNA testing done for the Winder Wonderland DNA Project, Deven Lewis found that the surname "Winders" had German heritage, while the surname "Winder" had English heritage. I have been using the surnames as different spellings of the same family--thus maybe causing more confusion.
