Moritz Zug
(Abt 1718 - 1808)
Moritz Zug, and his brothers Christian and Johannes, landed in Philadelphia on 21 September 1742 aboard the Frances and Elizabeth. All three brothers settled in the Northkill Amish community in Berks County (then, northern Lancaster County). Moritz bought land on Plum Creek, a branch of the Schuylkill River, in Bern Township from John Yarnall on 27 November 1761. In 1770, Moritz and his family, except for his son, John, moved to West Whiteland Township in Chester County, Pennsylvania.
