Christian Wenger Reverend
(1 May 1698 - 9 Feb 1772)
Christian Wenger's familiy fled Switzerland between 1705 and 1710. First, they resided in northern Alsace, France and then in the Zweibrucken area of the Palatinate, Germany around 1705.
Christian landed in Philadelphia on 30 September 1727 on the ship Molly. Most likely, his future wife, Eve Grabiel, was also aboard. Christian settled along Groff's Run, obtaining a patent for 289 acres in present-day West Earl on 20 April 1741. He was ordained a minister some time before 1748. Christian signed the 1755 Mennonite Petition to the Pennsylvania Assembly.
