Susannah Clingenpeel was a charter member of the Brethren Church of Bethlehem, three miles west of Boones Mill, Virginia.
A family story holds that Susannah Clingenpeel bore a girl subsequent to William Jones's furlough. The child was given to others to raise due to Susannah's poverty. The story, however, cannot be verified.
