John Clingenpeel

John Clingenpeel and Sarah Kilkenney lived in Botetcourt County in 1810 and in Rockbridge County in 1820, according to census records for Virginia. The census records also list seven children, although I have only two children's names.
After 1820 John Clingenpeel's name no longer appears in Virginia census records. It is probable that he and his family moved to Preble County, Ohio. His children were living in Preble County in 1859.
John and Sarah Clingenpeel may have had a son, John, Jr., who lived in Jefferson Township, Miami County, Indiana from 1850 to 1870, and in Monroe, Carroll County, Indiana in 1880. The son John's wife was named "Mary."
After 1820 John Clingenpeel's name no longer appears in Virginia census records. It is probable that he and his family moved to Preble County, Ohio. His children were living in Preble County in 1859.
