George F. Burns Senior

George Burns was a Civil War veteran, twice. He was drafted on 16 October 1862 as a private with Company A, 165th Pennsylvania Infantry and honorably discharged on 28 July 1863. George then enlisted in the Army of the Potomac, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, Company K, on 13 March 1865 as a Corporal, and mustered in on 15 March 1865. On 29 June 1865, George was honorably discharged. In 1869, he moved from Pennsylvania to Morrison, Illinois.
