Captain Jost Harbaugh served in the Revolutionary War, 7th Company, Second Battalion, York County, Militia. At age fourteen, Jost Harbaugh participated in Braddock's 1755 Expedition as a teamster. Jost also served in the Pennsylvania State Legislature in 1799.
