David Rine moved to Mount Morris, Illinois, in 1853 with his parents. He ran a grocery store in Mount Morris, Ogle, Illinois, under the name of Rine and Marshall. David moved to Kansas City in 1883 after selling his business. When he retired, he moved back to Mount Morris in 1897. David Rine also led the choir at the Lutheran Church.
