Individual Details
John M. Newcomer
(Abt 1816 - Bef 1872)
John Newcomer may have been killed by a train. Daniel (Pappy) Garlock told a family legend that a Newcomer, probably John, went west with some others. The group was walking along the railroad track in a narrow spot (a bridge or tunnel) when a train approached. John Newcomer was too stout to press against the wall and miss the passing train, as the others successfully did.
