Samuel Keedy went to college at Pennsylvania College, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. As a doctor he served in the Civil War. President Harrison appointed Samuel United States consul at Grenoble, France. He retained that position during the administrations of presidents Cleveland and McKinley.
