Ulrich Stauffer Senior
( - 1746)
Ulrich Stauffer left Bern before his family did. In March 1727 Christian Stauffer, Ulrich's brother and guardian of Ulrich's family, petitioned the Bernese authorities for permission for Ulrihc's family to emigrate to Pennsylvania, and to take their property worth 1,900 lbs. Ulrich apparently met up with his wife, Lucia, and their six (at the time) children somewhere in Europe because they were together when they landed in Philadelphia on 27 September 1727 aboard the James Goodwill. Ulrich obtained 100 acres, present-day address: 773 Marticville Road, Marticville, Pennsylvania.
