Individual Details
Hans Wisler
(Abt 1695 - 1745)
Hans Wisler landed in Philadelphia 1738 October 27 aboard the St. Andrew, one year after his borther, Heinrich, emigrated. He worked as a "cordwainer" (I believe this is someone who works with leather and makes shoes). In 1731 Hans was a member of the Mennonite congregation at Duhren, Sinsheim District, Baden-Wurttemberg, as was a Benedict Wisler, possibly Hans' father. Hans bought 132 acres in Conestoga Township on the north side of Pequea Creek on 4 May 1741.
Hans' parents may be Heinrich or Benedict Wissler (1657-1712) and Barbara Grundbacher (born 1669).
