Kathryn Hostetter belonged to the Mennonite Nurses Association, having served as treasurer for eleven years. She graduated from Rockingham Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and from Easter Mennonite College (with a Bachelor's of Science degree in nursing), and worked at the Mountain Clinic in Harman, West Virginia. She was honored as nurse of the year in 1984.
