Helping people was this lawyer’s motivation
Nicolet Law Office opened in Hudson last week. Russell Nicolet, who was born in Eau Claire but grew up in Green Bay, wasn’t real familiar with the western side of the state until he met his wife, Andrea Beaudry, a 1999 Hudson High School grad. A chance meeting in Florida at a Wake Board Complex brought the two enthusiasts together. Nicolet grew up using the Fox River as a water ski training ground and went on to be a member of his college water ski team.
“I had never been to this area until I met her,” said Nicolet, who was a student at UW-Stevens Point, studying political science and business administration when they met. Nicolet was deciding between Marquette University and UW-Madison for law school before Andrea entered his life. William Mitchell offered him a scholarship, which enhanced his decision. It was an internship with the public defender’s office in Wausau that turned the young man’s mind toward a career in law. “You get to help people through their issues and problems,” said Nicolet. Property law became a favorite.
“For me, the creative thinking and the historical aspect of property law was a plus,” said Nicolet, who originally wanted
to be a history professor. “I’m ambitious, hard working and motivated to help people with their problems and legal issues,” said Nicolet, who graduated in December from William Mitchell School of Law in St. Paul. He will be specializing in family law and real estate. Nicolet is a member of the St. Croix Valley Bar Association and Wisconsin Bar
Association, Young Lawyers Division.
