"Hustad's Celebrate 50th"

Dave and Kathryn met at the home of Alfred and May Haney, Kathryn's parents, in
1940. It was quite an unusual experience and very humourous to look back on
now so Kathryn related the following episode to add "spice" to the story. Her
folks had to be gone on this particular day on business and instructed she and
her sister, Trudy, not to invite anyone in or fix dinner for anyone who might
drop by. About 11:00 a.m., Dave and his friend, Joe Williams, rode into the
ranch and asked the girls to give them some food as they had been on thr trail
since daylight and were hungry. Kathryn told them, no, that they were not
allowed to do this and told them to leave. They did and their next stop was at
Warner and Nellie Burchett's where they were welcomed with the usual
hospitality of the homesteaders...
