Gordon B. Green, Sr. of New Richmond died on Thursday, July 4 at his home. He was born in New Richmond on Dec. 22, 1928 to Benjamin and Symilda (Peck) Green. Gordon married Evelyn Johnson on Dec. 8, 1948, and together they raised eight children.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Evelyn.
He is survived by six sons, David (Karen) of New Richmond, DuWayne (Rebecca) of New Richmond, Ronald (Sandy) of Somerset, Eugene (Michelle) of New Richmond, Darwin (Jean) of Star Prairie, Gordon Jr. (Debbie) of New Richmond; two daughters, Yvonne Langness of Star Prairie, Carol (Jerry) McDonel of New Richmond; 18 grandchildren; one step-grandchild; one great-grandchild, and two brothers, Donald (Linda) Green of Baldwin, Leroy (Beverly) Green of Dresser.
Visitation was held on Monday, July 8, at the Beebe Mortuary in New Richmond and on Tuesday, July 9, at the Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home in Webster. Graveside services were held Tuesday at the Oakgrove Cemetery in Webster with Reverend Diane Blahauvietz officiating. Gordon's sons were casketbearers and VFW Post 10818 of New Richmond provided military honors.
