Shadows of the Past, 50th Anniversary of GCHS Class of 1937

After graduation I worked on N.Y.A. and as a waitress in one of the local
cafes. In July of 1938 I married Walt Saylor. We worked at whatever jobs we
could find, spending part of the time working on ranches near Twin Bridges and
Sheridan, Montana. In July, 1941, we leased a ranch thirty miles west of
Jordan. In 1947 we bought the ranch and spent from that time on until the
spring of 1986 there. We raised cattle, and Walt farmed, and sold hay from
his hay bottoms. In the spring of 1979 we leased the ranch to our son Ronald
and his wife Roxie. We still continued to live on the ranch. In the spring of
1986 the kids bought the ranch, and we moved to Jordan. We had bought some
lots here several years before then. We bought a new double wide mobile home,
and Walt had a new garage built, so we call this home for now. We have two
children, Ronald and Irene. Ronard married Roxie Ryan, and they have two
children, a boy David and a daughter Charleen. They are both married. They
have three grandsons. Irene married John Robertson, and they have two sons,
and three daughters, also three grandchildren. Irene and John live in Circle.
We have a nice motorhome, and a small car which we pull behind it, and have
been spending the winters in Arizona and California. We have done quite a lot
of traveling, and hope to do a lot more.
