Individual Details
Henrietta Mary McCulloch
(14 Aug 1746 - )
Rev. Alexander McIver married Rachel Miller, daughter of Steven Miller, whose mother was Margaret McCulloch, daughter of Henry McCulloch. Henry McCulloch was Secretary of the Province of North Carolina. This cousin, Henry McCulloch, received the largest grant of land given anyone in North Carolina by the Lords Proprietors. To develop this property, he came to the New World to supervise the 72,000 acres, lying in Duplin, Sampson, and Pender Counties. A Life Sketch of Mrs. Marshall McDiarmid Williams by Rev. Peter McIntyre, and N. C. Biography, reprinted Flashes of Duplin's History, p 412. Refering to Steven Miller's mother as Margaret McCulloch is probably a typographical error. AT Outlaw in a 1938 article referred to Mary McCulloch as the wife of George Miller. This is consistent with the names of Henry Miller's daughters in his will of 1755, since Mary McCulloch, widow, deeded land to William McGee husband of her daughter Elizabeth, who was referred to as Elizabeth Margaret in Henry McCulloch's will.
