Death
Kenneth Olander Gunderson passed away on Saturday May 12, 2012 at his home in Twin Falls, with his family at his side. Kenneth was a loving husband to his wife Betty Dorene Brown, married on December 22, 1944 in Redding, CA. He was a wonderful father to their three children; Wayne Gunderson (Kelly Close), Pamela Backman, (Lindy (Buz) Backman), Janet Thornburgh (Gary Thornburgh). Loving grandfather to their seven grandchildren; Scott Gunderson, Timothy Gunderson, (Kristina Gunderson) Mindy Simonson, Bree Curotto (John Curotto), Adrienne Hawkins (David Hawkins), Shauna Horton and Ryan Horton. Andrew Horton twin to Adrienne passed away shortly after birth. Kenneth and Betty are blessed with ten great grandchildren - Ashley Gunderson, Kaylie Gunderson, Grace Gunderson, Sophia Gunderson, Sydney Gunderson, Garrett Simonson, Hayley Simonson, Brady Curotto, Annabella Curotto, and Lucy Curotto. He also had many nieces and nephews. Kenneth was born in Boone County, NE to Gilbert and Sophia Gunderson. His sisters were Myrtle and Bernice, brothers were Omer (deceased), Virgil (deceased), Floyd (deceased), Vern and Duane Gunderson. Kenneth was an electrical contractor by trade, and was a sixty year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, spending most of his working years in Sonoma County, CA. He loved spending time with family and friends, and enjoyed fellowship, especially with visitors from out of town to see him and his wife Betty. He enjoyed outdoor activities, such as ATV riding, golfing, and really loved hunting for elk and deer at the cabins of his son-in-law Buz. Kenneth was an avid sports fan, watching any sporting event from baseball, football, racing, and golf. Two of his favorite teams were the San Francisco 49ers and the San Francisco Giants. He had a true love for life and spent every moment cherishing his life and the people in it. Kenneth was a true God fearing man, who showed his love for God in the way he approached life, how he treated others, how he showed love, and was truly a great witness in how he lived his life. A viewing for Kenneth will be held from 10:00-10:45 a.m. on Friday, May 18 at Adobe Creek Funeral Home, 331 Lakeville St., Petaluma, CA. with burial to follow at the Cypress Hill Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. in Petaluma. Memorial services will be held on Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Adobe Christian Center in Petaluma. Arrangements in California are under the direction of Adobe Creek Funeral Home, Petaluma. A viewing for Kenneth will take place at Rosenau Funeral Home, Twin Falls, ID on Tuesday, May 15 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The family would like to thank Idaho Home Hospice team who cared for Kenneth since January.Endnotes
