Jans Gysbertsen Van Meteren

The widower Jan Gysbertsen Metrn came with his son to the Dutch settlement of New Amsterdam from Brommell, South Holland in 1663. He was well off financially. He settled at New Utrecht, Long Island and was one of the magistrates during 1673. In 1683 he was a deacon of the Dutch Church. Later they moved to Monmouth Co., New Jersey.
