A great grandson of John C. Henton, - Will W. Henton, of Canton, Mo, wrote to Sallie P. Seay, of Buechel, Ky and Mrs. Angeline DeWitt Hall of Inglewood, CA in 1915 asking for genealogical information to compile a history of the Van Meter family. He mentions oil paintings of Wm and Mary Chenoweth that were found with Ruth Foreman's descendants. "They must have been painted a hundred years ago."
