....the will of David Prouty, of Spencer dated Oct 4, 1892 .. was filed in the court records of Barber County, Kansas and Kingman County, KS. In the will Isaac L. Prouty was named as one of the Executors. Also a quit claim for property in Hazelton, Barber County, Kansas was awarded to another branch of my family, not related to any Proutys (Cain)The New York Times. September 18, 1892.
David Prouty's Public Bequests.
Worcester, Mass., Sept. 17. - The will of the late David Prouty of Spencer, filed to-day, contains the following public bequests:
Wesleyan Academy at Wilbraham, $15,000; Home Missionary Society, $5,000; First Congregational Society, Methodist Episcopal Society, Universalist Society, and Baptist Society of Spencer, $4,000 each; Pine Grove Cemetery. Spencer, $5,000; Amherst College, $15,000: Wellesley College, $15,000: Baldwinsville Hospital Cottages, $6,000: Drury College, Green County, Mo., $15,000: Indigent Citizens of Spencer, $5,000.
George A. Craig and Isaac L Prouty of Spencer are named as executors. The estate is valued at over $200,000.
