William Frederick "Bill" Martens
(16 Oct 1881 - 20 Oct 1956)
--> of Mathilde's 2nd husband Bill Martens - My grandfather (John Lester Schmidt) was not fond of him, and (he) basically drove him out of the house at the age of 14. Apparently he was not a really kind man. My grand fathers father, John A. Schmidt, died when my grand father was only 6 yrs old, and I think Bill Marten was ready to have children be out of the house when he married Mathilde (Elizabeth Schmidt-Panos).
