Death
Robert Dennis MustainJuly 26, 1922 - June 16, 2010Robert Dennis Mustain, 87 of Troy, formerly of Los Angeles, California passed away on June 16, 2010 at St. Joseph Hospital, in Lake St. Louis, MO. Robert was born July 26, 1922, in Galesburg, Illinois to Paul William and Ruth
Elizabeth (Englund) Mustain. After graduating from the University of Chicago with a degree in math and physics, he went on to proudly serve his country. Robert enlisted in the U.S. Army and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. After his military service he continued his education, and received his Masters Degree. On June 23, 1951, he married the love of his life, Mary Alice Burchfield, in Chicago, Illinois. Robert and his new bride relocated to Los Angeles, California where they raised their three beautiful children, James, Stephen, and Sally. Robert lost Mary Alice to cancer in 1988. In 1991 he met and married Phyllis Mitchell. They spent 17 wonderful years together until her passing in 2008. Robert worked as an aerospace engineer for Boeing for over 30 years. In retirement Robert took great pleasure in genealogy, working on crossword puzzles, and reading. In May of 2009 Robert left Los Angeles, and moved to Troy so that he could be close to his son James, and his family. Robert will be sadly missed by his beloved family and many friends. Services are private with interment at National Cemetery, Jefferson Barracks, and MO.
