Don HusmanServices were held Dec 3 for Don Husman, 60 at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello with burial in Oakwood Cemetery. The Rev. W. Willis Longer officiated at the services.
Don Husman , Langworthy, was found dead Nov 30th evening in his truck in the parking lot of St. Mary's Credit Union, Monticello, of an apparent heart attack.
Donald Paul Husman was born Oct. 8, 1927 in Lovell Township, Jones County, the son of August and Catherina Paulsen Husman. He received his early education in he rural schools near his home. He graduated from the Center Junction High School in 1946. Don then went to work at Farmers Mutual creamery in Monticello.
Donald P Husman and Phyllis Heyen were married June 21, 1950 at the Evangelical Reform Church, Monticello. The couple made their home in Monticello for a year before moving to Langworthy. In 1967 he started hauling milk for the creamery and worked as a milk hauler until 1977. He then started working as a scrap dealer.
Don was baptized Nov 6, 1927 at the Evangelical Reform Church. he was confirmed his faith April 25, 1943.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis, a son, Dean of Langworthy; two daughters, Linda Sue Schneider and Carol Ann Devaney, both of Langworthy; 5 grandchildren; two brothers Melvin Husman of Monticello and Herbert Husman of Cedar Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Casket bearers were George Schneiter, Larry Jensen, Paul Zimmerman, Bill McDonell, Chuck Bacon, Art Husmann.
Goettsch Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
