Individual Details
Charles Vernon Bruce
(10 Aug 1891 - 26 Jan 1967)
Charles Vernon Bruce's military experience: He was in the army and was stationed here (Kansas) at Ft. Riley. I believe that it was 1917 to 1918. I need to go to Ft. Riley and see if I can find discharge papers. The south border of our farm is the north boundary of Ft. Riley.
Dad had a sister and a brother. On November 6, 1920 a baby boy was born. Not sure if he was still born or only lived a few hours. I do not know where he was buried. Then Ilamae was born on the May 15, 1922. She died of pneumonia on January 24, 1923. They were in Plattsburg, Mo where Charles Vernon was on the crew that was putting in the city sewer. I am do not know too much about the machine that Charles and daughter is sitting on, but was told the he built it and it had something to do with road paving.
