Charging wilful neglect and extreme cruelty, Mrs. Ruth L. Lovejoy of Rocklin has filed suit for divorce against Charles W. Lovejoy. In the complaint filed with County Clerk A. S. Fleming of Placer county, Mrs. Lovejoy alleges that on September 15, 1923 her husband beat her. She also charges him with drinking to excess.
Death
Per Jeanette Harper:"The death certificate for Charles W Lovejoy, dated, 11/2/29, state on October 14, 1929: Charles W. Lovejoy died from shock and loss of blood caused by a bullet wound through his head, self-inflicted, with suicidal intent. Death occurred in Rocklin, Placer County Calif. on October 14, 1929".
The informant was his step-son Al Dobbas.

Charles Lovejoy, 66, Ends Life by Shooting
Charles Lovejoy, for many years a resident of Rocklin, committed suicide there Monday afternoon by shooting himself through the head.
Friends claim he has brooded over his troubles for a long time. He was a native of Maine, aged 66 years. He was twice married and leaves a 10-year-old son, George, who lives with his mother in Lincoln. Interment will be in Rocklin Cemetery today.

ROCKLIN RESIDENT TAKES OWN LIFE
Funeral Services Today For Charles W. Lovejoy
Charles W. Lovejoy, well known Rocklin resident committed suicide on Monday by placing a revolver over his right ear and pulling the trigger. Death was instant.
The deceased was living with Tom Armsdon at the time. He came home about noon and cooked his dinner according to Armsdon and then came out in the yard and sat down next to Armsdon. He got up, went into the house procured a revolver from under Armsdon's pillow, sat down in a chair and ended his life.
Heavy drinking and ill health is thought to have been the cause.
Funeral services were held in the Newcastle cemetery at 4 p.m. today with Rev. Eckles of the Congregational church of this city officiating.
