Marriage
Monticello (Iowa) Express, 25, 1926Miss Frances Alice Hoult became the bride of Glenn Henry Eilers last evening. The marriage ceremony was performed at the parsonage of the First Congregational church by Rev. George W. McNary. The bride was gowned in a dress of orchid crepe de chine and wore a hat to match. There were no attendants at the wedding. Mrs. McNarry served a six-thirty dinner to a small group of guests, Mr. and Mrs. Eilers left for Chicago, where they will spend the remainder of the week on a wedding trip. Upon their return they will live on the Fred Lawrence farm which Mr. Eilers recently purchased. Mrs. Eilers, who is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Hoult, has been employed on the office of Dr. John H. Fraser. Mr. Eilers is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Eilers, and graduated from the Monticello high school with the class of 1921. Since that time he has been engaged in the vocation of farming. The Express wishes success and happiness in the future for Mr. and Mrs. Eilers.
Death
Francis Eilers, age 88, of Monticello died early Thursday morning, May 2, 1991 at the Anamosa Community Hospital, following a period of declining health.Francis Hoult was born December 16, 1902 in Jones County, Iowa. She was the daughter of John and Clara Hooper, Hoult. She received her education in the rural schools near her home. Francis later worked in the office of Dr. Fraser.
Francis Hoult and Glenn Eiler were married February 26, 1926 at Monticello, Iowa. The couple farmed i the Delaware County, south of Sand Springs. In the early 1960's the couple retired from active farming and would travel to Arizona in the winter. The couple moved into Monticello in 1989.
Francis was a member of the first Presbyterian Church, Monticello and the Sara-Ruth Circle. She was also a past member of the Monticello Garden Club.
Francis is survived by her husband Glenn. She was preceded in death by her Parents and her brother.
Casket Bearers were: Louis Knudson, Myron Tweed, Bob Husman, Robert First, Dale Adams, Bill Lux.
