Military
He served in the French and Indian War in 1758 and in 1761. In the Revolution he enlisted as a "Minute man" and marched on the alarm of April 19, 1775, to Concord served in various troops till his death May 15, 1778.Death
Aug. 18, 1783, his father, Richard Prouty of Brattleboro, Vt., petitioned Worcester County Probate Court to appoint his son Richard Prouty administrator of Joshua's estate. No indication of children.Endnotes
