Larry Eiben
July 9, 1947 - Aug 7, 2008
Larry Harold Eiben, 61 of Langworthy, passed Thursday, Aug 7, 2008 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha with his two sons and a daughter-in-law by his side, following a courageous battle with cancer. A celebration of life gathering was held Tuesday, Aug. 12, at Larry's residence.
Larry was born July 9, 1947, the son of Harold & Clara (Hubbar) Eiben. He graduated from Monticello High School in 1966. He served in the United States Air Force from 1966-1969. Larry worked at Farmstead Foods in Cedar Rapids for many years.
Larry enjoyed being with his family and spending time outdoors enjoying nature. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends but will always be in their hearts.
He is survived by his two sons, Shanin (Jamie) Eiben of Monticello and Chad Eiben of Jacksonville Beach, FL, three grandchildren, Mitchell, Kayla and Austin Eiben of Monticello, his parents Harold and Clara Eiben of Anamosa, three sisters, Judi (John) Hite of Delta Junction, Alaska, Marcia (Bob) Orr of Frankfort, Ill and Debra (Mike) Miller of Anamosa, two brothers Dr. Gary (Katie) Eiben of Colesburg and Rick (Leslie) Eiben of Washington; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice in Hiawatha.
