In the database (Edgecombe County, North Carolina Vital Records, 1720-1880), James Barfield, Sr. apparently died December 9, 1770 in Edgecombe County, NC. According to this database, there were at least five other siblings with these being Elizabeth, James, Jr., Miles, Samuel and Lucretia. James Barfield, Sr.'s wife's name was Anne.
