Captain James Lockhart

James was a ship builder and sea captain. He built the schooner Hercules at Avonport and kept the first light house at Hortonville, Nova Scotia (Eagles).
The Horton, town register of births, marriages and deaths, 1751-1895 has the following family listed - possibly this James Lockhart - (Note - James is not listed in this register as a child of David and Mercy, though date wise he would fit.)

They settled in Horton Township, Nova Scotia, Canada circa 1762. (Probably from Northern Ireland.)
Captain James had an older brother John (born 11.22.1788). John had a son, John Alexander. He had a son, BENJAMIN -- who is listed in your geneaology. So, the way I figure it, BEN's grandfather (John) and my great great great grandfather (James) were brothers.

George Alexander and Margaret (PORTER) LOCKHART, b 30 Aug 1846 at Windsor,
m 30 Sep 1869, licence, Baptist, Julia MASTERS of Newport, b ca 1851, dau
of John and Lavina MASTERS. Fred was a sea captain, living at Hantsport. He
d 13 Dec 1903, bur 15 Dec and Julia d of pneumonia 20 Jan 1909; both buried
in Riverbank Cem, Hantsport, Hants Co, NS. Children: Everina b c 1872, m Mr
DAYTON, a confectioner
Frederick Ephriam b 20 Sep 1874 at Hantsport (no further info given)
Lila Madeline b c 1878. m Hantsport 14 Jun 1905 Cyrus Benjamin
NEWCOMB, salesman of Grand Rapids Michigan, b Hantsport c 1877, son of
Aseph and Elmira NEWCOMB (he gives a note describing the wedding).
Roy of Grand Rapids, Michigan where he was an engineer at Blow Pipe
Duster Rister plant

Fred A. was the son of George Alexander b 1829, m March 1846 to Margaret
PORTER, dau of Elisha PORTER. He was lost at sea from the brig Euphrates at
Turks Island. George and Margaret had children:

George Alexander m Annie GRAVES of PEI. She died and he was
living in Boston in 1898
Susan m Mr LOTHROP, blacksmith of Hantsport, NS. They were
living in Boston in 1898.
