Laura Belle Marguerite Wall was born, Sept. 27, 1929, at Farley, Iowa. She received her education in the rural schools near her home. She worked as a housekeeper for several families in Cascade before she married Clarence Eiben on May 16, 1953, at the Community Presbyterian Church, Cascade. They farmed in the Onslow/Center Junction area until 1968, when they bought a farm near Hopkinton in South Fork Township of Delaware County. Laura was a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother first and foremost. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, playing games, even doing somersaults with them. She picked berries for the Kirkwood's, as well as wild berries to sell at the farmers market along with her homemade baked goods. She worked alongside of Clarence on the farm and also helped him with the scrap metal business. Laura was also part of the cleaning group at the Hopkinton Presbyterian Church for many years. She enjoyed playing cards, Bingo and quilting.
