Clara Flack Married to Clarence Eilers TuesdayMiss Clara Flack, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Flack, and Clarence Eilers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alva Eilers, were united in marriage at the Sacred Heart church Tuesday morning at eight o'clock. Rev, A. L. Lorenz performed the single ring ceremony.
The bridal couple was attended by LaVonne and Laverne Lambert, Mary Lou Hallauer of Davenport was the flower girl.
The bride wore a white chantilly lace gown over satin. Her veil was white tulle and was held in place with a seed pearl coronet, She carried an arm bouquet of pink roses.
Miss Lambert wore a pastel pink net dress with silver accessories and carried yellow roses. The flower girl wore a blue net dress over satin and carried a basket of tulips.
Following the wedding a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents for the immediate relatives and friends. The decorations were pink and white. A large wedding cake, which was baked by the bride's aunt, Mrs. George Hallauer of Davenport, formed the centerpiece for the table. The girls who waited on table included Clara Manternacht and Irene Cigrand of Cascade, Marie Stulken, Clara Melchert, Mary Pender and Lillian Fitzsimmons.
Following a short wedding trip Mr. and, Mrs. Eilers will make their home in Davenport. They were complimented at a shower at the K. of C. hall, the evening of May 12. The evening was spent dancing after which refreshments were served. They received many lovely gifts.

Gazette, The (Cedar Rapids-Iowa City, IA) - Tuesday, July 25, 2006Clara T. Eilers, 89, of Monticello, died Sunday, July 23, 2006, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, after a long illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Monticello. Burial: church cemetery. The Rev. Donald Schmitt will officiate. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Kramer Funeral Home in Monticello, where a Scripture service begins at 7 p.m.
Clara was born Sept. 14, 1916, in Cascade, Iowa, the daughter of Rudolph and Anna (Goos) Flack. She attended country schools near Cascade until their family moved to Monticello, where she began attending Sacred Heart Schools, graduating in 1933 at the age of 16.
On May 23, 1939, she married Clarence "Buck" Eilers at Sacred Heart Church in Monticello. Together they farmed near Monticello until Buck preceded her in death on Dec. 8, 1965. Clara moved to town in 1969. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was a former 4-H leader. Clara was employed at the Krysan Bakery in Monticello and also kept herself busy as a dispatcher for the city. She was an active member of the Garden Club.
Surviving are five sons, Robert and Mel (Becky Menster) Eilers, both of Monticello, Loren Eilers of Cedar Rapids, Donald (Glenda) of Scotch Grove and Steve Eilers of Harrisonville, Mo.; two daughters, Sharon (Ernie) Rahm of Anaheim, Calif., and Jean (Bill) Nelson of Aurora, Colo.; 17 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Buck; three grandchildren, Doug Eilers, Sherri Nelson Drahota and a granddaughter in infancy; and a sister, Mary Heeren.
