The occurrence – we learn from the Post Rider, from Covington, that a murder was committed in that town a few nights since, by John Hurst, on the body of Taylor Rhodes, a highly respected citizen of Tipton County. The circumstances attending the transaction are but partially known by our informant – except that Hurst struck the deceased a violent blow on the head with a chair, from the effects of which he soon after expired. Hurst made his escape.
